We’ve been running the Southern Schools Novice Competition now for over 10 years and we have between 120 and 150 Judokas taking part from over 12 Judo Schools and Clubs from London and the South at each event.
Its a great competition to introduce your Judokas to the world of competition as well as should always be part of your ‘must do’ Southern event.
If you are a Judo Club / School
If you run your own club/school and want to bring along all or a selection of your players, please contact us and we will send you electronic posters/emails to share within your club. Competitors must be under 12 years old on the day and do not require a BJA license. No county level, southern area level or higher levels are permitted. Dropping techniques will be allowed.
Your players can register online here and they will be allocated to the correct age and weight group for their matches. We provide medals to all competitors as well as have a friendly competition of ‘club of the tournament’ based upon which club wins the most golds.
A Judoka wishing to take part
If you wish to come along and take part in the event, GREAT! Please book here, we will allocate your child to the correct pool, which is based on weight, age, experience and ability. When registering, we ask that you include their weight (if not delays can happen, so please ensure you include the correct weight when booking). We do weigh them in when they arrive to ensure they are in the right pool, as soon as everyone has arrived in their pool, the pool sheet is transferred to the Judges and they will call the relevant pool onto the mats. And then the contest starts….. finished by a medal presentation (chance to take a photo) and then you are finished for the day… we always suggest allowing 2 hours to be at the event.
